Regional powerhouse 

The current outlook for the Rockhampton Region is positive with a number of major projects and infrastructure developments either committed or nearing commitment in the local area and wider region. These projects are anticipated to have positive short and long term impacts on the region’s economy and population.

 

Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline

Rocky is on the Radar for the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline Project.

The Queensland Government has recently approved the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline for construction. The $983 million pipeline will be owned and managed by Gladstone Area Water Gladstone Area Water Board and constructed by McConnell Dowell BMD Joint Venture (MBJV), with early works commencing in March 2023.

Rookwood Weir

Nearing completion, the $367.2 million project will capture valuable
water in the lower Fitzroy River for use across the region.

Rockhampton Ring Road

Providing a western link of the Bruce Highway from the Capricorn
Highway - Gracemere to Yeppoon Road/Bruce Highway intersection in
the north and will include a new crossing of the Fitzroy River.

Australia – Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI)

Located at Shoalwater Bay, 80 kilometres north of Rockhampton.

Mount Morgan Tailings Processing and Rehabilitation Project

The Gold Rush for Mount Morgan’s economy is continuing with Heritage Minerals securing vital federal funding.
