EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Advance Rockhampton is supporting the MEAT Capricorn Project, investigating the feasibility of a small-scale abattoir within Central Queensland.

The MEAT Capricorn Project focus on smaller livestock such as sheep, goats and pigs along with boutique cattle.

It aims to understand if there is sufficient supply and demand in Central Queensland to potentially assist:

• Local farmers process, sell to local retail and wholesale customers, and distribute their produce
• Food service providers in Central Queensland access locally sourced meat products

For farmers it means having your produce ready to sell to the public or local businesses.

For butchers and restaurateurs, it's a chance to showcase the best our region has to offer!
