150 years since the first gold was discovered here, the Rockhampton Region remains a global player in the resources industry. Mining supports more than 10,600 local jobs and contributes around $2 billion dollars to the Regional economy (QRC, 2023-24).

The mining industry continues to grow, increasing its output in the Rockhampton Region by 29% from 2021-22 to 2023/24.
