Queensland has a low business cost environment and the Queensland Government works to maintain a competitive tax environment for business.

The region offers excellent vehicles of communication between the private sector and government, with all major state and federal government service offices based in Rockhampton. The Regional Council offers a dedicated planning department focused on advancing Rockhampton by providing direct services to businesses to help navigate through council plans and protocols.

Council’s Development Incentives Policy offers tangible financial and non-financial support for commercial and industrial developments that will deliver significant and sustainable growth, diversity and value-adding that is aligned to Council’s planning and economic objectives.

The Development Incentives Policy is a discretionary scheme which seeks to attract and support projects that will deliver the greatest economic benefits to the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
