Rockhampton River Festival
The Fitzroy River has been the lifesource for the people of Central Queensland since the time of the Dreaming. In a celebration of its glory, and its strength to support the community, the Rockhampton River Festival was born in 2014. The three-day celebration leverages the riverbank’s stunning natural and built heritage to forge fond and fun memories in the minds of many. Capricorn Food and Wine Festival
The Capricorn Food and Wine Festival has something for everyone. The weekend offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for foodies, wine connoisseurs and everything in between. The Festival celebrates the redevelopment of Quay Street along the banks of the Fitzroy River, showcasing Rockhampton’s elegant streetscapes and majestic sandstone buildings. The Barra Bounty is a tag and release event and was the first event to introduce photographing then releasing of fish instead of having the fish weighed or bought back for the event site. For more information visit www.rockybarrabounty.com.
WTF Women that Fish Competition
Women That Fish was founded in 2012 as a not for profit organisation for ladies 18 years and over. Their aim is to empower women and build their confidence on the water as well as providing an amazing friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy. CQ Mega Expo

Golden Mount Festival
Forty one years ago, a festival began. Morphed from the “Back to Mount Morgan Week” and the Springtime Carnival, the Golden Mount Festival has become one of the longest, if not the longest surviving festival in Central Queensland. Winter and Spring Racing Carnivals

From 2020, the one and only Summernats will bring the noise and smoke of its most iconic events to Rockhampton for the brand new annual ROCKYNATS, with the first event being held June 26 – 28 2020.
