There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from making a difference to people in your local community. With a region of over 87,000 residents, you’re sure to find a club or group that meets your interests.

Here’s a small collection of clubs, groups and associations within the region. Don’t despair though if you can’t find something you’re looking for – Google is here to help!

  • Seniors – Senior Citizens Clubs and pensioners leagues are regularly hosted in Rockhampton at Bauhinia House and Schotia Place. The Rockhampton’s U3A (University of the third age) community provides fun educational, creative, leisure activities provided by  members themselves.
  • Sports – The sporting world in the region is your oyster. You’ll find competitions and fixtures in hockey, soccer, touch football, rugby league, union, swimming, netball, swimming, AFL, tennis, golf, cricket, squash and basketball for young and old. From kindy sports to archery, the region has the clubs and associations to fulfill your sporting desires.  Follow Kickstart CQ on Facebook for all your sporting needs!
  • Arts and crafts – There’s quite a variety of local craft groups in pockets of the region, and with chats with local shop owners you should find your niche, or visit Google. If you are looking for structured groups, visit the Walter Reid Cultural Centre or the Rockhampton Art Gallery . You might even get some inspiration here.
