55 Childcare and Kindergarten facilities feed into 22 Primary and 4 State High Schools. There are 18 private schools, some offering Kindergarten to Year 12, with three options for boarding facilities.

CQUniversity, Queensland’s only dual sector institution, offers world-class technical and vocational qualifications as well as bachelor through to PhD programs across a full range of academic disciplines. CQUniversity’s reach extends throughout Central Queensland and to 25 campuses and delivery sites nationally and internationally. Rockhampton is also home to the University of Queensland’s Rural Clinic School and James Cook University’s Generalist Medical Training Program.
