Sister and Friendship Cities

Sister or friendship cities are a mutually beneficial agreement between cities that seeks to build international relations, encourage cultural understanding and establish trade agreements and business partnerships. Cities will mutually establish a friendship city agreement before committing to becoming a sister city and it's not uncommon to have multiple agreements.

Rockhampton Regional Council is committed to enhancing local economic growth and forging strong international relations is seen to be crucial to this cause. Sister and Friendship City agreements provide an invaluable platform for potential trade and investment, international education, tourism and business opportunities across all industry sectors and culturally diversify communities.

Through these relationships we share information, exchange contacts, create mutually beneficial opportunities and cultural projects and gain valuable perspective within our respectable international markets.

Rockhampton Regional Council currently has established two sister cities and one Friendship city
