The Rockhampton Central Business District (CBD) is home to or an employer of over 7,000 people and harbours some sensational boutique shopping options with designer fashion, homeware, collectables and antiques up for grabs.

Supporting new commercial and retail activity that generates investment and employment in our CBD is a high priority for Rockhampton Regional Council.

With over $30M recently invested into the precinct, Council will continue to work with property and business owners to deliver initiatives that contribute to the CBD being a destination where people want to live, work and play.

Just some of the initiatives, programs and strategies that Council are currently working on include:

• Riverbank Redevelopment Project

• Rockhampton Art Gallery, Smart Hub and Cultural Precinct

• CBD Redevelopment Framework

• Rockhampton’s Smart Way Forward Strategy including a suite of technology implemented along Riverside and East Street

• CBD Development Incentives

• CBD Façade Improvement Scheme

• Pilot Dining Platform Program

• Ongoing place making initiatives including planter boxes, window decals, and artistic wrapping of traffic controller boxes, NBN nodes and NBN pillars.
