The region offers world class medical facilities and are spread across our 3 public and private hospitals housing 500+ beds and teams of specialists and allied health professionals. The Rockhampton Hospital is also a major teaching hospital with linkages to CQUniversity and University of Queensland.
Our strong focus on education and training starts with ABC’s through to PHD’s. Rockhampton offers all types of education opportunities. From early childhood and primary schooling, to secondary schooling and tertiary study, there is a strong educational focus in the region. CQUniversity is the largest regional university and the first of its kind offering dual sector TAFE and university qualifications.
Expansion to the university through a new $140 million urban living village will bring an influx of construction to the area. The development features 2000 homes on 80ha of CQUniversity campus land and is a combination of residential, retail and community areas that will accommodate a diverse range of people with a number of housing options.
